Occasionally, we have adult dogs available to approved homes. These may include:

• Retired breeding dogs who have completed their time in our program

• Young adults we’ve held back for evaluation or training but ultimately did not stay in our program

• Dogs returned to us due to changes in their family’s or health circumstances

​

These dogs have been raised with love in our home and are deeply cherished. They’ve helped build the foundation of our program or shown promise as future hopefuls. Rehoming them is never an easy decision—but it is one we make thoughtfully and responsibly.

Why We Do This

We love our dogs deeply—but we also recognize that no matter how committed and capable we are, we cannot give a huge number of dogs the individual attention and personal connection each one deserves. Our goal is not just to breed exceptional dogs—it’s to ensure that every Sunbuilt dog lives an exceptional life.

Sometimes, the best way to honor a dog is to let them go be someone’s everything. Whether they’ve raised beautiful puppies or simply been part of our journey, they deserve to be the center of someone’s world. We place retired and available dogs in homes where they can receive undivided attention, daily companionship, and the kind of love that comes from being not one of many—but the one that matters most.

Letting go is never easy. It’s always done with great care, tears, and gratitude for the joy these dogs have brought to our lives and program. But we do it for them—so they can live their very best lives.

What You Can Expect

All available dogs:

​

• Are current on vetting

• Most have basic training in house manners, crate time, leash walking, and obedience

• Are placed with a written contract and lifetime support

• Must live indoors as cherished family members

 

We are highly selective about these placements. We look for homes that not only meet the dog’s physical needs but also reflect our core values of love, commitment, and ethical care.

Adult dogs are a wonderful fit for families who:

• Prefer a dog past the puppy stage

• Want a more predictable temperament or health

• Are ready to open their hearts to a dog who has already given so much

We do not always have puppies or adults available. Please note: placements are never first-come, first-served. We match each dog with the home best suited to their individual needs.
